St.Marys Porchfest

St.Marys Porchfest featured several performers from Fernandina Beach, a short 20 mile stone’s throw south of St.Marys on Florida’s Amelia Island, some musicians from Jacksonville and a bunch of local St.Marys and Kingsland bands and performers. They all showed up for a four hour music party on seven porches in seven different locations in downtown. Refreshment booths and several food trucks took care of the audience’s food and beverages needs and the party began at 1 pm. Of course it’s always difficult to gauge the success of a first time event, especially when a neighboring town features a former country music star at the same time slot. But to be honest, the Porchfest brought music into the streets and was worth repeating. The musicians had a great time, the audiences enjoyed the liveliness and the music and the town’s tourism got a lift. …and here at Jerry Lee’s Music Store we had great music and Zydeco Cajun food.

Well done St.Marys Porchfest. We’re looking forward to the next one.
