Breedlove: There is a Cure for the Quarantine Blues

Breedlove: There is a Cure for the Quarantine Blues, says the Oregon based quality guitar manufacturer, this in sharp contrast to the 1960’s believe that “There ain’t no cure for the Summertime Blues”, a song that inside of a decade made it several times onto the Billboard 100. Early rocker Eddy Cochran wrote it in 1958 and climbed the charts in 1959, but my favorite version of the song came from a San Francisco based psychedelic blues rock band called Blue Cheer. Their deafening interpretation of the song charted sometime in the summer of 1968.

Breedlove’s interpretation of the Quarantine Blues as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, not only plays right into the hands and wallets of the thousands of musicians and aspiring musicians, who find themselves locked down in their homes for weeks on end, their aim is also to assist their dealers to survive this dreaded lock down. On the musician’s level it has become clear that even Netflix, Hulu and Amazon can not break the inevitable boredom that sets in after a while.

We all know that music helps during these uncertain socially distant times. All at once we’re living in a Six Foot Society and the future seems at least a bit unsure. Every day celebrity musicians put virtual shows on youTube and Zoom and online teachers get more audience attention than ever with their instructional videos and courses.
