The Jeff Bridges Signature Breedlove Guitars now in GA

One of 3 Jeff Bridges Signature models

Jerry Lee introduces actor/musician Jeff Bridges Signature Breedlove Guitars, entirely built with Eco Friendly and sustainable tone woods .

Presented as “his new line of Eco-Friendly Guitars,” Oscar-winning actor, accomplished guitarist and eco-activist Jeff Bridges designed this series, after his friend and band member Chris Pelonis introduced him to the beauty of a Breedlove guitar and the corporate philosophy behind Breedlove’s eco-friendly approach. They got together with Breedlove owner Tom Bedell, who for many years has been traveling to the world’s tone wood forests to verify individual harvest, chain of custody, and sound ecological practices, and the beautiful result of their collaboration is a series of three guitars that proudly feature Bridges’ eco-activist slogan “We’re All In This Together” on the fretboard. Jeff Bridges Signature Breedlove guitars are entirely made of sustainable tonewoodsā€”including the superior sounding, hauntingly beautiful native Oregon myrtlewood, powerful torrefied European spruce, ringing granadillo and warm African mahogany. Oh yeah, it also features a nice carving of Jeff Bridges’ autograph.

Celebrity Endorsements

Now it is not entirely unusual that famous actors at one point in their careers, surprisingly turn out to be very accomplished singers and musicians as well; Bradley Cooper, Adam Sandler, Jack Black, Johnny Depp with the Hollywood Vampires, Kevin Bacon, Ricky Gervais, Zooey Deschanel, not to forget Steve Martin’s virtuosity on banjo and classically trained pianist/actor Jamie Foxx who literally was Ray Charles in the movie “Ray”, all amazing talents that could make a career in front of a camera or on a stage with a guitar, like country star singer/songwriter Kris Kristofferson did the other way around.

We all know Jeff Bridges as the prolific actor for his title roles inĀ The Big Lebowski,Ā True Grit, and, most recently,Ā Bad Times at the El Royale, but there is so much more to him than his screen appearances. Turns out Bridges was a musician before he became an actor, in spite of growing up with his famous actor dad Lloyd Bridges and his older brother Beau. Referring to his career as an actor and his passion for music, Bridges says, “I dug what an actor did, but it took me a while to feel it, to truly appreciate the craft and the preparation. Plus, I was still playing music a lot, and I guess I had a hard time choosing: was I an actor or a musician, or could I be both?”

These days he performs with his band,Ā Jeff Bridges & the Abiders, and added another major cause to his life as an activist and proponent for environmental causes, now resulting in the Jeff Bridges Signature Breedlove line of eco-friendly guitars.

A Spot on Jeff Bridges Musical Career

Born in 1949, Bridges studied piano at a young age, strongly encouraged by his mother. While working on the 1980 film Heaven’s Gate, he often played guitar with his co-star, singer-songwriter Kris Kristofferson, between takes. His character in Crazy Heart, Bad Blake, was later based partly on Kristofferson.

He released his debut album Be Here Soon on January 1, 2000. In 2005, Bridges, known as “The Dude” in the film The Big Lebowski, showed up at a Lebowski Fest in Los Angeles singing and playing the film’s theme song written by Bob Dylan, “The Man in Me”.

On January 15, 2010, Bridges performed the song “I Don’t Know” from Crazy Heart on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien. His biggest success to date came with the 2009 movieĀ Crazy Heart about down-and-out country singer Bad Blake. His portrayal of Blake as well his musical chops earned him an Oscar, the Golden Globe and Screen Actor Guild awards plus many others.

In the film The Contender, in which he co-starred, Bridges recorded a version of Johnny Cash’s standard “Ring of Fire” with Kim Carnes that played over the pivotal opening credits.

In February 2010, he was among the nearly 80 musicians to sing on the charity-single remake of “We Are the World”. On October 24, 2010, Bridges appeared at Neil Young’s annual Bridge School Benefit concert and played a set with singer-songwriter Neko Case.

On April 19, 2011, Country Music Television announced that Bridges had signed a recording contract with Blue Note Records/EMI Music Group. He worked with producer T-Bone Burnett and released his second album, Jeff Bridges, on August 16, 2011. On November 5, 2011, Bridges played Austin City Limits in support of this album.
In 2015 he sang on album Strangers Again with Judy Collins singing a duet of the musical tune from Candide by Leonard Bernstein called Make Our Garden Grow.
In 2015, Bridges released an ambient/spoken-word album entitled Sleeping Tapes. All proceeds from the album go directly to Bridges’ charity No Kid Hungry.

Personally I particularly like his Covid Lockdown inspired recent lullaby and eco-friendly message: My Welcome Mat.
